Description
This Ersari Turkmen rug features a classic repeating motif of rounded medallions, or "guls," interspersed with more sparse, skeletal guls across a solid background. The gul designs are prominent in many Turkmen styles, and often signified the particular tribal origins of its weaver. These styles were originally dyed rich reds using vegetable dyes from madder root. Following treatment with an antique wash, the rug now retains its original knotted design in a more neutral palette. Pattern, color variation, and signs of wear with vintage items is normal.
We recommend using rug pads to extend the life of all Passerine rugs. Add a custom-sized rug pad to your order using order add-on the drop down above.
